Välissuhtlus

Minister of Defence Jüri Luik met today, in Tokyo, with Japanese Minister of Defence Itsunori Onodera, in order to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and questions related to international security. This was the first trip to Japan by Estonia’s Minister of Defence.

 

Kaitseminister Jüri Luik kohtus täna Tokyos Jaapani kaitseministri Itsunori Onoderaga, et arutada kahepoolse kaitsekoostöö ning rahvusvahelise julgeolekuga seotud küsimusi. Tegu oli Eesti kaitseministri esimese visiidiga Jaapanisse.

 

Minister of Defence Jüri Luik met in Muhumaa with his Finnish counterpart, Jussi Niinistö, in order to discuss defence cooperation between the two countries as well as regional security.

 

Kaitseminister Jüri Luik kohtus reede õhtul Muhumaal Soome ametivenna Jussi Niinistöga, et arutada kahe riigi vahelist kaitsekoostööd ning regionaalse julgeoleku teemasid.

 

Minister of Defence Jüri Luik participated in the meeting of European ministers of defence and foreign affairs, in Luxembourg, where he signed a letter of intent for the European Intervention Initiative proposed by France.

 

Kaitseminister Jüri Luik osales täna Luksemburgis Euroopa Liidu kaitse- ja välisministrite kohtumisel, kus allkirjastas Prantsusmaa ellu kutsutud Euroopa kaitsevalmiduse algatuse ühiste kavatsuste protokolli.

 

The International Centre for Defence and Security presented the Ministry of Defence with the findings of a study on the possibilities for strengthening the air defence capabilities of the Baltic Republics.

 

Rahvusvaheline Kaitseuuringute Keskus tutvustas Kaitseministeeriumile uuringut Balti riikide õhukaitsesüsteemi tugevdamise võimaluste kohta.

 

During his appearance at the international security forum GLOBSEC 2018, in Bratislava, Minister of Defence Jüri Luik stated that NATO is capable of providing effective deterrence on the Alliance’s eastern wing.

 

Minister of Defence Jüri Luik was visited today by Major General Olivier Bonnet de Paillerets, Commander of the French Cyber Defence Command (COMCYBER), with the two discussing an increase in cyber cooperation between the two countries and topics for the forthcoming NATO Summit.
